The 28th edition of the International Day for Elderly Persons (JIPA 2018), which takes place on 1 October every year, was celebrated at the esplanade of the National Museum in Yaounde, under the theme: “Challenges and Opportunities of Ageing”.

Activities marking celebrations of the 2018 World Population Day took place in Bertoua on 10 and 11 July 2018. On 11 July 2018, the Central Bureau for Censuses and Population Studies (BUCREP) went to the ceremonial ground of the East region to participate at the march past, where the entire staff marched in their colourful 4th GPHC attire.
